what a rock and roll dive bar should be

The first time I walked into mulligans was, like many others, on my 21st birthday. I had heard all of the rumors and had extremely high expectations of what kind of bar it was going to be. I was not even slightly let down! The bar staff is attractive, friendly, fun and they aren't afraid to get in someones face if you're getting too out of line. The drinks are strong and ridiculously well priced. The music is loud and eclectic, the staff has a motto that if you play something they don't like they'll skip it, which I can appreciate, so I do warn..choose your songs wisely! They just recently opened up a back room where they're holding shows and a fun mix of DJ nights. It's a great room to watch shows in, or get together with some friends and dance! The clientele changes on a regular basis from what i've seen, but i've yet to go down there and not run into a familiar face. There is always good looking guys and girls hanging out all over the bar, it's definitely a hot spot for young attractive tattoo covered people looking to get their drink on! It's a filthy, dark, loud, hell of a good time kind of bar!

Favorite biker bar

Smokey, loud music and strong drinks, makes Mulligans the place to go when you just feel like it. Mulligan?s for Thirsty Thursdays has sweet drink specials and the bartenders like to make their drinks strong which is a welcome change. Any other day of the week you will find every walk of life chillin here. If you like beards, long hair, androgynous boys and girls and lots and lots of tattoos, frequent this local favorite.

What's not to love?

Other than the terrible music being played way too loud to hear the person right next to you, let alone across the table. The stench is one of a kind. The burning eyes from the smoke, the burning throat from that night's dinner when it starts to make its way up the first time you step foot in the bathroom/puddle of liquid who knows what. Oh, and did I mention the outrageous wait to get a drink? But after all that...this place is my home away from home. Cheapest drinks you'll find anywhere, and aside from the occassional douchebag, the people are friendly as hell.

• Pros: cheap drinks, stiff drinks, partytownusa, delightful dames, boisterous boys
• Cons: loud crummy music, odor, smoky smoky smoky
