Bears In The Woods Amish Furniture

Absolutely Beautiful Hardwood Furniture. My wife and I love going to Bears in the Woods. The have a wide selection of very nice hand made Amish hardwood furniture. Even if we can't afford to buy anything we still go at least once a year to see what we want to save up for. The furniture is a bit expensive but it will last a very long time if taken care of. We plan to hand our furniture down to our kids some day (as long as they don't destroy it with permanent markers, forks or any other item they can get their hands on).

The only cons I have about Bears in the Woods is that it takes a very long time to receive furniture when it is special ordered (typically 3 months). It also is a bit off the beaten path but it is a nice drive, especially in the fall.…

Not very good at holding up their end.. I called these folks about some furniture a couple of weeks ago. They had what I wanted. I asked them to put a hold on it and send me some pics. The gal said ok no problem. She also told me that there was a truck going to the same town I was in and that the pieces I wanted could go on the same truck but would not go for 3 - 4 weeks. I told her no problem and left all of my information with her. I asked her to contact me if there was a need for money down or if there were any questions or concerns. She said that the furniture wasn't going anywhere and told me she would get the photos to me in a few days.

I waited 2 weeks and heard nothing. I have been very busy with moving accross the country and getting furniture lined up as well as other things. I called to make final arrangements and to see why I had heard nothing.

I spoke with an older woman and she told me the pieces were still there and that the truck would be leaving in the morning. I gave her my credit card info. and she said everything was ok. She told me she would have her boss call me tonight and clarify the shipping information. I told her ok.

Her boss called me and told me that the pieces I wanted had been sold, that the hold on the furniture was no good and that the first person that came in with cash bought the pieces.

I explained my case and he seemed very indifferent to the scenario. No respect for deals made.…

great place to shop for beautiful hardwood furniture. My husband and I have gone to Bears in the Woods several times and have had great experiences each time. We are also a young couple, but have not found them to be patronizing or condescending in any way. As a matter of fact, we talked with staff about how we wished we could afford this beautiful/comfortable reclining loveseat, and the staff still pulled out catalogs to show us others that were also great, sharing their excitement for great funiture, despite the fact that they knew were not able to or planning on purchasing such an extravagant piece. The pieces we have purchased were of fantastic quality, and the selection is better than any Amish furniture store we have been to. We highly recommend this place for all your furniture needs. We plan to continue slowly furnishing our home through this store.…
