Best Restaurant in Town!. Bistro Bella Vita has the greatest special sheet in town! I've always had a great experience and exceptional service! The food is out of this world....did you know they don't have a microwave in the kitchen? Everything is made from scratch....even down to the stocks! Great place and have great values...don"t see that much anymore! Go there, check it out, and you will not be disappointed.

Not so Bella. I haven't been to BBV in over ten years, and my dining experience this past Saturday night left much to be desired. We went to celebrate a birthday (we had a group of about 18) and the service and drinks were good but the food was NOT. My husband and I started with a Greek Salad, which was like no other Greek Salad I had ever experienced. Not even recognizable as "Greek". His beef was so salty we had nothing else to do but sit around and wait for his ankles to swell. My Skate was over fried and over oiled. No one else's food looked much better; in fact some of it truly looked "fresh" out of a microwavable box.

Seriously has gone downhill since my last visit. Or my expectations have gone way up.

Restaurant was packed. Why I am not sure.

great date place. my wife and had a wonderful experience here - the next baby sitter we get we will be back - food was excellent and the place was laid back - not very stuffy

I'm coming back for more!. We were in Grand Rapids and looking for a good place for dinner for two. We just happened upon Bistro Vella Vita! The food was great and the waitress a balance of cordial and comical. We also took it as a good sign that the place was full when we left. (We're going back again. Next time to take in the live jazz!)

Best in GR. I recentl moved away from GR to Atlanta, GA, but I miss this place so much! Great food, good service and a wonderful setting. Atlanta is the only place I have found a better balance of all the dining aspects, but then again GR is not nearly as big. I have been all around the country and have found few that can top this place.

Big city dining in GR. Bistro introduced the martini bar concept to GR. The wood-fired pizzas are a treat though the spices/sauces in the pasta dishes sometimes miss the mark. The downtown conveted-warehouse locale is cool-- one of the cornerstone establishments of the inner city revitalization that sprang up with Van Andel arena.
