We first went to G.B. Russo in search of good wine and found nothing. We asked the cashier about other places in town and he told us that "Russo and Martha's Vineyard were the best places in town." Well, Martha's Vineyard makes Russo look like a 7-Eleven. Martha's Vineyard has a second floor FULL of fabulous wine selections. We went in looking for a specific wine, and not only did the guy know the wine, he had some in stock. We ended up buying not only that bottle, but a whole case of wine! This is a highly recommended store for not only their wine and liquor selection (the best selection of scotch in town!) but their gourmet food and deli as well.
Pros: Fabulous wine selection! Easily the best in town.
Cons: Parking-but, the salesperson carried our wines to our car!

This place is awesome! The atmosphere reminds me of a friendly Chicago-style upscale corner market. The staff are very well trained and more than happy to please, as well as give spectacular recommendations. This place truly has it all. I have never seen such a great selection of single malt scotches in Michigan. Martha's offers everything from cigars and exotic cheeses to rare chocolates and organic olive oils. A must see if you are in downtown Grand Rapids. Gourmet Palates Unite!
Pros: Service, Selection, Atmosphere, Short lines, Open late, Abundant free samples
Cons: Slightly limited parking (we just parked across the street in the massive church lot)
