El Sombrero.
I am a HUGE fan of good authentic mexican food. This place was HORRIBLE! Not only was the food of poor quality, the portions were off and the customer service was extremely bad. I ordered a taco bowl with only cilantro, steak, onions (guac, salsa & sour cream on the side) on the side. The bowl was FULL of shredded cheese and large pieces of cilantro. (not finely chopped), there was maybe 6 pieces of small cubed meat, the salsa was like cold tomatoe soup and the guac appeared to be old (not fresh and green).
I called to let them know about the order that my co-worker just picked up and automatically the person on the phone went into "defense mode" and blamed it on the person who picked up the order (they werent apologetic at all)
My co-worker then called them to state that it wasnt her fault and she didnt appreciate being accused. I then called back to speak with the mgr. to let him know we work for a very large media group and at our establishment, we are not allowed to go "back and fourth" with customers, our job is to try to provide excellent customer service and keep happy customers. The mgr. didnt care and was also non apologetic.
Our organization will never order from this place again and we will let others know about this experience.

Looking for great Mexican food? You're search is over..
El Sombrero is absolutely delicious. It is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Grand Rapids. My favorite menu item is the wet burrito. It's so good! The portions are generous and prices are reasonable. I would definitely recommend El Sombrero to anyone looking for a good meal.
Plus, I am pretty sure they are locally owned. Dining there puts money back in to the community.

Amazing Wet Burritos!.
I love the wet burritos at El Sombrero! They are smothered in an amazing red sauce and the lettuce is crisp on the insides! Mmmm! I have recently moved out of state and haven't been able to find another burrito that comes close to comparing to one from El Sombrero. I can't wait to come back to visit Grand Rapids and have me the perfect wet burrito! :)
