Illinois-based drugstore chain serves neighborhoods with fully stocked stores and modern amenities.. In Short
Founded in 1901 in Chicago by Charles R. Walgreen Sr., this neighborhood pharmacy has grown to be one of the nation's largest drugstore chains. Each store carries 25,000 different items--from cleaning products to electronics and greeting cards. Store features include a computerized system connecting pharmacies nationwide via satellite, grocery-store food aisles, one-hour photofinishing and an automated phone system for prescription refills and pre-arranged pickup times. Other services include in-store flu shots and childhood immunizations.

Best in every way. The Walgreens store on the corner of Breton and 44th is the greatest, just ask all shoppers. The greatest for handicappers in wheelchairs. The personal are the greatest and so helpful. They do not make wheelchair people feel inferior and sure do not make us feel embarassed if there is an item that needs their help to get off shelf. Most of the products are easy for us to get. The prices are the greatest. Management, wow, management is the greatest. They are always extremely helpful and fun to talk with, they sure make me smile. For those in wheelchairs, this store is one of the best stores to shop in. My, how I love the store and personal. One of the greatest things about the store is that the isles are clear to go up and down. There is no embarassment when shopping in this store. Just not enough words to say.
