Dirty restaurant, sub par food. My husband and I arrived after the lunch rush (1:30ish) and the place was a disaster! Bits of food were all over the carpet everywhere, stacks of dirty plates and at least a dozen dirty cups were up at the bar. What a great view from our table! The waitress was at least nice, altough she did bring us two drinks with tortilla chips floating in them. Two people were wandering around (I guess they worked there...no uniforms or nametags) one bussing tables while he sat down, the other one kept refilling her drink and not cleaning! We've been in the service industry for over 15 years and what we saw was appaling. The place was filthy and I can tell you that we won't be back.

Fun, casual, just good food. Quirky, fun and warm atmosphere. Really good food although it is not as authentic as some. The portions are huge. The drinks are strong. All in all you get a lot for your money. Some restaurant substitute quantity for quality, that is not the case here, you get both. I recommend the cantina for a really casual fun meal.

WORST service ever.. DO NOT EAT HERE! Waiting staff was TERRIBLE! Their so called "best server" lied to us about the price of their margaritas and denied it later. The manager was standing two feet away and never came to see if something was wrong. My credit card was overcharged by 40$ and the same manager harassed me when I asked her to correct it with proof and it took them a month to do give me my money back while accusing me of stealing?! The food was excellent but not worth it. I will NEVER go back, it's just was not worth it.

Best Mexican in GR. Love it!! Great food, Great deal, Great fun. I always have a really good meal at the Cantina. I love their burritos, margaritas and hot BBQ wings. The service can be a little inconsistant but everything else makes it worthwhile.

Best Bean Dip Ever!!. This is one of my all time favorite places to go when I visit Grand Rapids. I am not much of a bean dip eater, but their bean dip is the best I have also ever had (located in the bar area). I have not been able to find a bean dip comparable anywhere in my travels. The fish tacos are wonderful too. It is a great value for what you get. I always walk away very full, with leftovers and do not feel like I spent too much. Several of my friends from the GR area enjoy it just as much and are always happy to meet me there when I am in town for a visit.

Bad Service. I am very disappointed in the restaurants customer service. Due to this experience and the lack of concern, I will no longer eat here. My friend and I went to order lunch through the drive through. Many of us at work have done this for years and asked for two orders so we would not have to figure change when we got back. We were told we don't do this. I said we've done it many times. They said we are to busy. ??To busy for a customer?? Isn't that who gives you a paycheck?

I went in to the restaurant to voice my opinion to the manager. Her statement was we are to busy to do this so we stopped taking multiple orders on Friday. I'm sorry, we have done this for years on Friday. I guess you won't have to worry about being to busy anymore.

So my question - What is the difference if we save gas and go in one car and ask for two orders? or if we take two cars (waste gas) so we can get service. Although I ask this question, it will not change my opinion on the fact the restaurant does not want my business, nor my co-workers.

go for the bar. from what i hear, the food here is actually terrible, not authentic or even tasty. if you want better GR mexican, i hear that the beltline bar is the way to go, just beware of the wait.

if you're gonna go to cantina, go for the quirky basement bar, open until 2am every night. reasonably priced drink specials, 6 different beers on tap, pitchers available. and often free chips, salsa and bean dip. the service is friendly, but be warned underagers, their carding policies have beefed up. pool tables and a juke box and funny mixed crowd of g-rappers makes cantina an enjoyable and relaxed place to drink, talk and chill. my only complaint is that they took blue moon off the tap.

value for your $$$!. Great food cheap upstears. The bar downstairs is also very unique. Friendly, forthcoming staff, huge parking lot and THE CHEAPEST drink prices I found so far in Grand Rapids. Food portions were so big, they left me wondering how these guys make profit. Great place!
