Omg did this just happen!. My wife and I were at the Meanwhile having a drink at about 6:30 Wednesday evening. I saw a couple of well dressed gentlemen come in with two kids. The kids were cute maybe 11 and 8....not really sure. Apparently they were excited to play pinball. The bartender came over and told them they had to leave. Apparently no children aloud. One of the guys asked if they could play pinball for a bit and have a couple of beers. The bartender said No! We can refuse anyone! My jaw dropped to the floor. The place was almost empty and they had customers who wanted to spend money. Maybe they have to much. One of the guys went over and was very polite and asked if they could stay for just a few minutes. The bartender said to the guy "Your being obnoxious" Yes he said this to someone that wanted to spend money and have a good time. I am disgusted and will never frequent this place again. I guess there is a reason why this guy is a bartender at a dumpy bar. Do yourself a favor and stay away. We will be sure to tell all our friends. Shame on you!!! Meanwhile!

Great bar (if u can handle the cigarette smoke). Great atmosphere! Cool art. Back court yard is set up like a Japanese isakaya. Strongly recommend the juke box, pin ball, and ordering from the nearby restaurants. Only down side is the massive amount of cigarette smoke. You will reek like a dirty ashtrey.

My favorite bar in GR*. *The Caveat: Kids (most likely from Rockford) select screamo, death faux-punk tracks on the jukebox and everyone suffers.
