ALL the positive reviews on this site are FAKE!. Worst Customer Service EVER! Against my better judgement I hired Snyder to put a new roof on my house and install gutters. They had the most competitive pricing of 3 quotes that I received. I was concerned about the negative reviews online and spoke with several people in their office and the salesman about it. They assured me that they would do an outstanding job. Unfortunately, that isn't what happened. They were supposed to start in the morning. The weather that day was clear. The forecast called for rain on the following day. The materials didn't get delivered until 2PM. The crew didn't show up until 4PM. They stopped work at 9:30PM and said they would be back in the morning. They left my roof exposed to the elements overnight. It started raining in the middle of the night. Rain was coming through my roof and got my newly installed insulation wet. They came back in the morning and continued working in the rain. The owner, John, was onsite during the installation. They were supposed to install an edge vent along the entire roof and they didn't. They charged me an extra $400 for cutting the soffit, because apparently it had been boarded up underneath the slotted aluminum soffit. They were supposed to install gutters along the backside of the house and they only installed 1 section. I've been trying to get them to address the problems for months now and they have not. Oh and here's a real gem, the owner John decided to go on a 3 minute long diatribe about what is wrong w/ this country - "gays, lack of faith in God, etc...etc.. (insert inappropriate and inflammatory statement here)". STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! Oh and they lost their BBB license and that's a fact!…
Rude and Very Determined. I had the unfortunate, rude and very pushy contact with Eric Snyder. I did not call them about new roofing. I had done some investigating on-line about roofers and some how and for some reason they called me. I had told Snyder on the phone, I can NOT accept anyones bids as yet, I am just trying to get an idea of the cost for new roofing. I am on disability and little income. He and a employee came to my house. Snyder talked and talked about how wonder their company is over everyone elses. They were in my house for over 2 hours. Snyder was so extremely deternined that I HAD to sign a contract with them or else. I wouldn't be that stupid. I wouldn't have Snyder put a roof on my house or do a thing for me, after listening to Snyder for way too long with all his very pushy rude and insisting ways. I have never in my 50 some years ever met with any contrator as bad as he is. The roof on my house from just a regular kind and non-insisting company put a roof on this house, over 15 years ago and it has lasted that long. The company that is going to put a new roof on it now is a regular and great company. A zillion times better then Snyder any day. Snyder gave me a quote for $15,000.00 and reduced it to $10,000.00 with a very snotty attitude. He could have told me he would do the job for $10.00 and I wouldn't have gone along with him anyway. The company that is going to the job now is going to do it for less than $4000.00. It will last 12 to 15 years and I have peace of mind with that and no rudeness or temper tantrums. Amen.…
horrible customer service. I had heard great reviews on Snyder roofing so I decided to go with them and convinced my neighbors to do the same. They got two jobs from me in the end. The original sales person Michael was crazy rude and pushy. I tried to look past it hoping that the actual roof job would be worth it in the end. A contract was written up specifying that the job did not include the garage (which is a given I think). After the roof was finished John Snyder informed me that the front porch would be extra because it was not included in the contract, however it was never specified as the garage was. They wanted 800 extra dollars to do it. I was not in a position to be able to shell out an extra 800 bucks beyond what it already was, so I decided to wait until spring. In the spring I hired a different contractor to do the porch and ended up finding out that one of the Snyder workers had fallen through the roof of the porch and then it was covered up with sheet metal. I called Snyder roofing and informed them of the porch roof. The lady I spoke with was very kind and said she would talk to John (owner) and see what they could do. I never heard back from them. The job went from a 800 dollar job to a 2,250 job. The entire porch had to be ripped off and redone. Hire at your own risk, they did a wonderful job on my friends house, I guess I wasn't quite as lucky.…
Sketchy and unreliable..
I had called to set up an estimate and was then called back the day before the walk thru to confirm the day and time. That seemed professional to me, nobody wants to have their time wasted and they
were following up to make sure nothing had changed. I confirmed the day and time and was then called again the day of the walk thru to confirm again (about 3 hours before they were to show up). Wasn't sure why my first confirmation wasn't good enough, but things slip thru the cracks sometimes. So you'd think they'd be there and on time, right?
Nope. I put my 1 yr old son in the car and drove to the rental property where the work was to be done, which is about 25 min. from my primary residence. I was there at 1:50 (appt for 2pm) and at 2:10 when nobody showed up I called the main number on their website. Not only didn't I get an answer, but it didn't even go to voice mail, it just disconnected after about 30 rings. I stuck around for about 10 more min. and left. I found another number for them when I got home and talked to the person who had confirmed the appt with me the first time. She said somebody could come over right away. Why hadn't they called me to say nobody would be by? They call to confirm the appt to make sure their time wasn't wasted, but obviously don't have the same regard for their customers. I told her I had already left (it was almost 3pm by now) and she didn't have much else to say, just that the guy who was supposed to come by had left or had somewhere to go or something. Finally after I asked her if that was all she had to say she half-heartedly apologized.
Pretty strange experience I'd say, not sure what their deal is over there. Must be making too much money to worry about a potential job. I'd make sure to check out the other reviews on here too, there are repeat excellent reviews that are obviously fake or from someone who does business with them, like insulators or other construction material companies. But the one from tayza on 7/3/11 seems to match up with my image of what kind of work I could expect if I had actually let them do the job. Very happy that nobody showed up to say the least.…
