Beware, You too could be kicked out for no reason
by Basham
My girlfriend rented the VIP section on a Friday night for Mega 80's. Besides the $150 she paid to reserve it, each one of the 20 people in our party paid $10 to get in. Late in the night, around 12:30, for no apparent reason, my gay friend was escorted out the door. No explanation given. No warning, no nothing. Just, "You're Out.". The only reason we could come up with that night was that he is gay. Whether or not this played a role, we'll never know because, of course, the manager of the Intersection says it had no bearing. I was not given an explanation until the next day. I want everyone to know that it's "illegal" to be drunk in a bar per the owner/mgr of the Intersection. They sell you the drinks, but then hold it against you when you get "drunk" from them! Apparently if you bump into someone on accident or in any way can be judged as intoxicated this is reason for the bouncers to kick you out. How's that for customer service? There's no warning, no suggestion that one drink water for awhile, not even the refusal of the bartender to serve you. It's straight to the door & out you go. My friend was causing no trouble. He was just having a good time which is why we all go to bars right? SO, I just want everyone to be forewarned, especially if you're going out with a large group, any one of you could be kicked out for no good reason. Kind of ruins the party for the rest of you. Whether or not you'll have a good night is all up to the bully bouncers at the Intersection.
- Pros: Good live music venue
- Cons: Small, expensive drinks/Bouncers are bullies
Both Sides Of The Fence.....I have seen this place
by gtvanc
I have played there with my band a couple times, and I have been there as a regular customer. In fact, the last time I was there (as a regular customer), they kept announcing that they had the largest crowd there ever in their history! The place was jammed packed! As a performer, their service, and amenities for their bands is awesome! Very clean showers and dressing rooms to relax in before and after performing. Definately top notch!
As a customer, the show that they claimed to have set attendance records, was still awesome! Our waitress had another gal following her around through the massive crowd. One would take the orders and the other would empty the ash tray, pick up the empties, and clean off the table. When they returned, they would both bring back all the drinks ordered. They could hardly move in the place and yet the service was excellent! Some might think that we got special treatment because of the fact we have performed there. Well, not the case, because the waitress never knew who we were. The bouncers there as well as their production people (Ian the master of sound) were a real treat to work with. I am not saying what band I am playing with because I want people to realize I am not just brown nosing here. They really are a great place. The only reason someone wouldn't have a good experience there would be because you have done something to cause it. I love this place! Prices are real affordable as well. Cheap ticket prices and cheap drinks!! I wouldn't base your decision to go or not on these reviews. Go see for yourself!
- Pros: Great service, Cheap Concerts, Cheap Drinks
- Cons: Parking can be a little bit of a challange, but not too bad. I have seen worse.

I came here to see ICP it was me and 7 of my friends the bouncers were very rude they kicked my boyfriend out for standing to close to a prego woman then one of the bouncer grabbed ahold of my friend who is disabled (he has M.D.) and pushed him out the door and then they kicked the rest of us out for being with them we were not even there for an hour. I suggest that u do not go there
The former heart and soul of Eastown
by countawesomeness
Ahhhhh The Intersection. A place where there's music and there's people and they're young and alive. Located on the corner of Lake and Wealthy in the heart of the Eastown district....wait. That was then. Several years ago, the owner decided to move to a larger venue, ostensibly to bring in "bigger" acts. Apparently Billy Corgan's post Smashing Pumpkins/pre Zwan outfit the Dali Zwan wasn't big enough. Nor was Conor Oberst's side project Desparecidos. Nor was Limp Bizkit. Or any other number of top-tier talents. Instead, the Intersection sold it's most appealing characteristic - a quaint hole-in-the-wall with an unbeatable intimate atmosphere - to become one of any number of generic clubs, indistinguishable from The Orbit Room or any other venue of comparable size. The result? Well, The Verve Pipe are playing there later this month...
- Pros: Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
- Cons: Everything that you can possibly think of.
Fine Venue but Service Lacking
by neolk
The vibe, music and crowd are usually all great. I have a negative view of the place because of only one incident but it somehow remains with me. One bartender refused to serve me. Completely ignored me (I hadn't even had a drink yet). Asked for a drink while she continued to served people who came long after me. There were even people who were served before me, finished their drinks and came back for more and were still served before me. Went over to 2nd bartender who got to me right away. Complained about service and was apologized to by good bartender who said the other girl was slow.
Nice, but If it's HOT, stay away....

6/25/05 mid 90's outside. Walked in to find NO Air Conditioning in the concert venue side, but plenty of A/C in the lounge area?? Was told it was on and working by numerous staff members, but apparently it works only on the lounge side. LOVE the venue itself, and the beer and liquor selections is top notch, but with 750 people inside on a hot day, you're better off skipping this place. I seriously believe that if they'd have tried to charge folks for glasses water, there woulda been a riot. Was humerous that a member of the mgmt was walking around in a tweed sportcoat, tie and long sleeves (apparently the A/C must work REAL well in his office). Otherwise, it's not a bad place to see a show.
Concert Locale

Excellent venue for concerts. This place will bring in a sound to match any taste. Have seen many great bands and box office prices are in line with other venues of it's size.
- Pros: Layout, Stage, Location
